WORKING WITH THE RIGHT PARTNER
For the implementation of RPA to take place
seamlessly, companies need to engage
experienced technology providers that have A.) the
right technical know-how and B.) experience within
their industry and/or discipline (e.g., risk and
insurance or claims administration).
When discussing RPA with a potential client,
Jarrod Albert, Senior Manager, Automation and
Integration, at Ventiv Technology, explains the
process: "We have a conversation with the client
and work out which tasks are automated and
which processes are variable. Many Internet
applications can be automated with RPA, including
legacy applications. Office applications like
Microsoft Windows or Acrobat can be automated
with RPA, too."
Albert adds: "There are technical details involved
with creating these processes people don't always
grasp until we get started, such as exception
handling, testing, and training. With our domain
experience in risk and insurance and claims
administration, we are building a catalogue of
processes that's letting us deploy RPA faster in
our areas of expertise. And, of course, after
implementation, we are on hand to help at
all times."
When implementing RPA, it is
important for companies to consider:
> Technical details
> Gaining management and
cross-departmental approval
> Infrastructure
> Exception handling
> Training
> Integration with business rules engines
> Monitoring
> Security
> Legacy systems
> Integration with third parties
> Ongoing support
> Employee training
> Future development and goals
