CONTINUED STRONG SALES GROWTH I'm very pleased to report that Ventiv had another very successful year in 2018. Year-over-year sales grew by 34 percent. This is all the more impressive considering that 2017 sales growth came in at a very strong 58 percent. As for total revenues, Ventiv grew by 10 percent in 2019; we're projecting total-revenues growth of 20 percent in 2019. Over 2017 and 2018, Ventiv was the fastest-growing provider of risk, insurance, and claims software solutions. This is important to our clients because it enables us to grow our investment in the products and people that serve our customers. ACQUISITION OF DAVID CORPORATION In December 2018, Ventiv acquired DAVID Corporation, a proven leader in claims and policy administration software. As a combined company, Ventiv now has more than 625 clients, 390,000 users, and 450 colleagues with offices in nine countries. From our clients' perspective, the importance of the DAVID Corp. acquisition lies in how it sets the stage for Ventiv's continuing high rate of growth. To keep growing at double digits year over year, a technology company like Ventiv must expand the markets in which we can compete. With our acquisition of DAVID, we are likewise expanding the markets we can address. Moreover, by integrating DAVID into Ventiv, we'll grow our R&D and product development budgets and spread that spend across our entire product lineup.
