Back in 2019, the office of the Chief Technologist and the Office of Chief Information Officer partnered to develop an agency-wide digital transformation strategy. This strategy was designed to encompass all levels of the transformation process including data usage, collaboration, model-based work, the application of artificial intelligence, as well as the agency workforce and culture. One interesting note: a current digital transformation project at NASA will enable system and safety engineers to exchange information and update the integrated modeling environment faster and more efficiently. In essence, this project will generate preliminary hazard analysis, that identify reliability drivers and support risk-informed decision making. Users will be able to assess the safety, reliability, maintainability and availability of systems and subsystems quickly and accurately. There is no doubt that Gene Kranz would be proud.
