Using RiskConsole, Cristina continued, Abertis has streamlined the time spent on consultation concerning coverage and claims, in both the Corporate Insurance Unit team and in queries from the businesses. pAving the risk mAnAgement rOAd The previous approach of managing each risk separately, without considering the correlation between risks, masked inefficiencies in the business as there was no clarity of the total risk exposure, Cristina asserted. "RiskConsole has helped us move away from traditional risk management to a comprehensive approach to managing risk exposures for our businesses as a whole." Now, consolidating claim data helps Abertis identify possible areas in a business that may need improvement. When renewing insurance policies, consolidated data also streamlines the collection of relevant data; supports in determining the optimal balance of self-insurance and risk transfer to the insurance market; and enhances negotiations for maximum terms of coverage at the lowest premiums. "We've been very lucky to have support people from Aon eSolutions, both in Spain and the UK, who have always been with us advising and getting to understand our needs and find solutions that fit our requirements," Cristina noted. Building fOr the future "Once all of our businesses are working with RiskConsole, we believe it will help them better understand their risks and their coverage," Cristina said, and while they have taken time to adapt the tool to suit their needs, "The truth is that the experience has been very positive, and will be even more so when we have all the information and all national and international businesses on the system."
