Insurer Ratings Businesses are increasingly concerned about the financial strength of professional risk carriers, asking more and more questions in light of the recent financial and economic turmoil and noted insurance failings. Historically, counter-party credit risk was driven by contract wordings, whereas now it can be linked to credit agency ratings to give a more complete overall picture of the exposure. Firms value this data in a way that the industry has never seen before, and as a consequence Aon eSolutions has developed the Insurer Ratings module in RiskConsole. This will help clients in managing their counter-party risk exposures across their corporate program, including captive and reinsurance arrangements. The Insurer Ratings module will also help clients in managing external vendors by ensuring the vendors' policies are using insurers/carriers with the required corporate minimum financial strength ratings. Distressed-Asset Tracking In the wake of the real estate bubble, many financial institutions are now challenged with managing an expanding portfolio of properties. RiskConsole's Asset Tracking module enables financial institutions to effectively manage critical property- related data management, analytics and reporting— especially around distressed real estate assets. Among the Asset Tracking module's key functionalities are property- data management and reporting analytics in key risk areas, including scheduling and renewal of property coverage and anticipation of potential exposures. MMSEA Reporting Module As of January 1, 2011, a series of new mandatory reporting requirements took effect for organizations defined as responsible reporting entities (RRE) under Section 111 of the Medicare, Medicaid and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007 (MMSEA). Many Aon eSolutions clients are likely to be affected by these new regulations, including organizations with liability insurance programs (including self-insurance); no-fault insurance plans; and workers' compensation plans. Aon eSolutions has completed development of and is ready to roll out an MMSEA reporting module for RiskConsole that can help clients overcome the complexities of submitting and tracking claims with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and maintain compliance with these new regulations. Rolling Out Now: Feature 6 Gartner Rates iVOS "Positive" in Market Review In its biennual review of North American insurance claims management, released earlier this year, leading technology consulting firm Gartner rated the Aon eSolutions iVOS claims management module as "positive," which represents an upgrade over Gartner's rating two years earlier of iVOS as "promising." In making its upgraded rating, Gartner cited as iVOS strengths the financial stability of parent company Aon; iVOS specializatin in commercial lines and workers' compensation claims; large customer base; prebuilt reporting and analytics capabilities; prebuilt performance dashboards; and solid data conversion methodology in moving data from existing systems to iVOS. Gartner also noted the numerous product enhancements released for iVOS during 2010 and made note of the Aon eSolutions commitment to continued product development and allocation of resources to research and development.
