In the 2012 Global Risk Technology Survey, as in the 2009 survey,
respondents chose accuracy and reliability of data as the leading
benefit derived from using risk technology and risk management
information systems (RMIS). Scrutiny of business operations and
financial reporting continues unabated in this recession-era
economy. Confidence in data is clearly a key issue for the
organizations we surveyed. These global businesses are using
risk technology to help oversee and manage vast amounts of
data stemming from daily operations. Because the global
perception of risk has changed the way organizations view this
type of information, the RMIS may help by providing precise
and dependable reporting to senior management.
This number one ranking indicates that, in a landscape marked
by cutbacks and competition, management has once again
recognized that advanced and complete integration of data
leads to greater business intelligence, which in turn can
engender enhanced insight into areas such as total cost of risk,
benchmarking and risk profiles.
