SAFETY MANAGEMENT: CAPABILITIES OVERVIEW 5 INVESTIGATION Be in control to reduce pre-loss exposure and drive best practice and compliance By consolidating your organization's pre- and post-loss databases, you can make definitive links between your loss experience and preventive actions like safety meetings, surveys and audits. Go beyond the mere recording of incidents/near misses/claims to conduct investigations as to the root cause(s) of the event. Determine, assign and manage any related action items with appropriate escalations. > Impact your premiums and terms: definitively linking corrective and preventive actions to loss experience can have a substantial impact on your risk-transfer costs. > Learn from your safety data: interactive analytics on your safety trends and initiatives drive performance and best practice. > Drive proactive loss prevention: automatically create and assign corrective measures for below standard situations and link with proactive action monitoring to drive progress. ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS Use the Root Cause Analysis Wizard to help identify underlying causes. Immediate and Basic or Root Causes are identified for the 6 major cause categories: People, Method, Machines, Materials, Measurements and Environment. CREATE, ASSIGN AND TRACK ACTION ITEMS Track corrective actions and drive accountability by assigning responsibility for those actions, including review and approval. Corrective Actions can be added directly or generated automatically from root cause analysis, audits/self-assessments, safety meetings and near miss/safety observations. Dashboard reports and automated email notifications drive the timely closure of outstanding action items.
