Speed Matters:
Up to 69% of analytics users indicated their decision window had
shortened substantially in the past two years. In order to make quicker
decisions and meet those growing time-constraints, individuals needed
data at a rapidly increasing rate. In fact, 70% of analytics users said they
needed information to be available in less than an hour.

The Benefits of Real-Time Analytics
When it comes to the speed of business, analytics is playing an increasingly important role.
MicroStrategy, worldwide provider of enterprise analytics and mobility software, undertook a
survey of business intelligence and analytics decision makers from around the world. The
results of that survey, published in The Global State of Enterprise Analytics report, offered
some insight into the state of analytics. When asked, what benefits their organization has
realized through analytics, respondents answered:
64% - Improved efficiency and productivity
56% - Faster, more effective decision making
51% - Better financial performance
46% - Identification and creation of new product and service revenue
46% - Improved customer acquisition and retention
44% - Improved customer experiences
43% - Competitive advantage
The survey also reported that while more than 80% of management has access to analytics in
their company, less than half of front-line employees do.
The good news?
That statistic is changing -- for the better. In this report, we provide some examples of
companies that are crossing the threshold to become a data-driven organization and
leveraging real-time data to speed them on their way.
